Connecting Your Wallet

Vares supports multiple Solana wallets. This guide helps you connect your wallet securely.

Supported Wallets

We support three popular Solana wallets:

Phantom Wallet

  • Best For: Beginners and casual users
  • Platforms: iOS, Android, Chrome, Firefox
  • Features: User-friendly, beautiful UI, excellent support
  • Download: phantom.app

Solflare Wallet

  • Best For: Advanced users and developers
  • Platforms: iOS, Android, Web
  • Features: Full-featured, hardware wallet support
  • Download: solflare.com

Torus Wallet

  • Best For: Users new to crypto
  • Platforms: Web-based
  • Features: Social login, no seed phrases needed
  • Download: tor.us

Step 1: Install Phantom

  1. Visit phantom.app
  2. Select your device (iOS, Android, or Browser)
  3. Follow the installation instructions
  4. Open Phantom after installation

Step 2: Create a Wallet

  1. Tap “Create a new wallet”
  2. Create a strong password (12+ characters)
  3. IMPORTANT: Write down your recovery phrase in a safe place
  4. Confirm your recovery phrase
  5. Your wallet is now created
Never share your recovery phrase - Anyone with this phrase can access your funds. Store it securely offline.

Step 3: Fund Your Wallet

  1. Tap “Receive” in Phantom
  2. Copy your wallet address
  3. Send cryptocurrency from an exchange or another wallet
  4. Wait for confirmation (usually 5-30 minutes)

Step 4: Connect to Vares

  1. Open the Vares app
  2. Tap “Connect Wallet”
  3. Select “Phantom”
  4. Approve the connection in Phantom
  5. Your wallet is now connected to Vares

Setting Up Solflare

Step 1: Install Solflare

  1. Visit solflare.com
  2. Download for your device
  3. Install and open the application

Step 2: Create or Import Wallet

New Wallet:
  1. Tap “Create New Wallet”
  2. Create a strong password
  3. Save your recovery phrase securely
  4. Confirm your recovery phrase
Existing Wallet:
  1. Tap “Import Wallet”
  2. Enter your recovery phrase
  3. Create a password
  4. Your wallet is imported

Step 3: Connect to Vares

  1. Open the Vares app
  2. Tap “Connect Wallet”
  3. Select “Solflare”
  4. Approve the connection
  5. Your wallet is connected

Setting Up Torus

Step 1: Access Torus

  1. Visit tor.us
  2. Select “Solana” as your blockchain
  3. Choose your login method:
    • Google
    • X/Twitter
    • Discord
    • GitHub

Step 2: Login

  1. Click your chosen login method
  2. Authenticate with your account
  3. Your wallet is automatically created
  4. Fund your wallet with cryptocurrency

Step 3: Connect to Vares

  1. Open the Vares app
  2. Tap “Connect Wallet”
  3. Select “Torus”
  4. Authenticate with your login method
  5. Your wallet is connected

Wallet Security Best Practices

Protect Your Recovery Phrase

  • ✓ Write it down on paper and store in a safe
  • ✓ Never share it with anyone
  • ✓ Never take screenshots or photos
  • ✓ Never paste it in emails or messages
  • ✗ Don’t store it on your computer
  • ✗ Don’t share it with support staff

Secure Your Password

  • ✓ Use 12+ characters
  • ✓ Mix uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
  • ✓ Use a unique password for your wallet
  • ✓ Store in a password manager
  • ✗ Don’t use personal information
  • ✗ Don’t reuse passwords from other accounts

Verify Connections

  • ✓ Always verify the connection request in your wallet
  • ✓ Check that you’re on the official Vares app
  • ✓ Confirm the wallet address matches
  • ✗ Don’t approve suspicious connection requests
  • ✗ Don’t connect on public WiFi without a VPN

Disconnecting Your Wallet

From Vares App

  1. Open Vares app
  2. Tap “Account” tab
  3. Tap “Connected Wallets”
  4. Tap “Disconnect”
  5. Confirm disconnection

From Your Wallet

  1. Open your wallet app
  2. Go to “Connected Apps” or “Permissions”
  3. Find “Vares”
  4. Tap “Revoke Access” or “Disconnect”

Troubleshooting

Connection Fails

  • Ensure you have the latest version installed
  • Try restarting your device
  • Reinstall the wallet app if issues persist
  • Check your internet connection
  • Try again in a few moments
  • Restart both the wallet and Vares apps
  • Ensure your wallet is fully funded and set up
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting
  • Contact support if the issue persists

Wallet Issues

  • Use your recovery phrase to restore your wallet
  • Create a new password during restoration
  • Never share your recovery phrase with anyone
  • Unfortunately, you cannot recover a wallet without the phrase
  • Create a new wallet and transfer funds to it
  • Store your new recovery phrase securely
  • Wait for blockchain confirmation (usually 5-30 minutes)
  • Check the transaction on Solana Explorer
  • Verify you sent to the correct address
